Plan-IT and Conneqtech make the management of rental and loan cars smarter

Volvo dealer Niham relies on Plan-IT to manage its workshop scheduling. Thanks to a connection with Conneqtech, Plan-IT also optimizes the management of loaner and rental vehicles. In this blog post, we focus on the integration of Plan-IT and Conneqtech, and Volvo Niham outlines the benefits.

The software solutions from the Dutch company Plan-IT optimize productivity and efficiency in workshops. The platform helps with appointment management, provides users with an overview, and supports both sales and aftersales. Because Plan-IT continuously develops and listens to its customers, it has become the preferred scheduling software of many car dealers and car rental companies.

Efficiency and a reduced risk of errors
Conneqtech integrates with Plan-IT. This connection offers interesting opportunities for dealers, car rental companies, and other organizations. For example, the integration provides insight into three types of vehicle data: location, current mileage, and fuel and/or battery level.

This offers several advantages. This allows dealers and rental companies to optimize the provision and return of vehicles, reducing the risk of errors. This ensures that mileage is always recorded correctly, preventing lost revenue due to incorrect registration and processing in the invoice.

In addition, employees no longer have to physically go outside to record data, saving time. This is beneficial, given the tight labor market. Many dealership and rental company employees are under pressure to do more in less time. This integration helps reduce workload.

Proven in practice
The integration between Conneqtech and Plan-IT has proven itself in practice. Volvo Niham, for example, is one of the companies for which Plan-IT and the integration with Conneqtech are an indispensable part of its process. The Volvo dealer, with locations in The Hague, Wassenaar, Westland, and Zoetermeer, among others, uses the integration to support the management of its loaner and rental vehicles. Previously, Volvo Niham used a separate piece of paper, which recorded information such as the current mileage and fuel and/or battery level of a vehicle. An employee had to physically visit the vehicle to record this data.

Thanks to the integration between Conneqtech and Plan-IT, this is a thing of the past. Volvo Niham can see directly in Plan-IT where a car is located and read out the current mileage and fuel and/or battery level.

“We can tell the customer exactly where a car is and give them the keys. The customer only has to sign, with the mileage, fuel level, and battery level already entered,” says Remi Sebel, Aftersales Director at Volvo Niham. “This gives the reception desk peace of mind, and we can immediately move on with the next customer.”

‘Indispensable part of the planning’
Sebel describes Plan-IT as an indispensable part of his planning. He believes Conneqtech is a welcome addition, especially for keeping the rental fleet up-to-date. The integration increases efficiency by saving time and preventing errors.

The integration also supports the sale of cars from the rental fleet. “For example, we can immediately provide current mileage readings to the sales department when a rental car is sold,” says Sebel. This provides certainty and prevents errors when drafting sales contracts.

Easy to implement
The integration of Conneqtech and Plan-IT is easy to implement. There are two options:
Using a Conneqtech tracker that is installed in the vehicle and connected to the battery. This is a solution that always works;
Using OEM data that is made available and accessible to Conneqtech. This last option is being supported by a growing number of manufacturers.
In both cases, Conneqtech offers support in implementing the integration. Curious about the possibilities or do you have questions? Please contact us!
